Ministering to the Moms
One of our day visits was with Mats’ele, Limakatso, and Teboho of Tell Them I Care ministry. They minister to the orphans and caregivers. Through regular visits to orphanages they share the love of Jesus through story telling, play therapy and counseling. We visited the Good Shepherd Centre which cares for young mothers and their children.
When we arrived we were greeted by the children.

Many of the girls, some as young as 14, have become pregnant. Due to the scorn it brings the families (often the girls have become impregnated by their own fathers or male relatives), these girls are sent to the centre to live for 2-3 years. They learn life skills such as sewing and how to care for their children. But, most importantly it provides a place for the girls to heal. Many of the girls are angry at their babies because of what they represent to them. Through Tell Them I Care the girls hear the Gospel and many have come to know Christ as their Savior and hope.

At the close of our visit the mothers sang to us and danced in a way that only they could do. I will share the video when we get back to the states. I gave Teboho one of my video camera for use in their ministry. I’ll be able to download the videos when I get home.
